Art Classes for Creative Kids & Teens – 10-12 January

Shoalhaven Regional Gallery is hosting a number of crafting workshops for kids of different ages to have fun and create ocean-themed crafts that they can take with them, including beach bags and beach balls! The workshops are tailored for kids from ages three to eighteen with tickets starting at only $10, and just a few blocks away is a Pinot & Picasso venue if the adults want to get artistic with a few glasses of wine as well.

School Holiday Ring Making Workshop – 12 January

Continuing the creative activities, adults and children can get artistic together at the School Holiday Ring making workshop at Apply Eye Jewellery Studio in Berry, learn traditional silver smith techniques including soldering, forming and texturing, and make a unique sterling silver stacking ring. Tickets are $40pp for the opportunity to learn how to use naked flame to work with fine metal and have a simple but beautiful reminder of your holiday together.

Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Garden Plant Sale + Raffle – 23 January

For the green thumbs out there (or those who like to give gorgeous plants as gifts) the Shoalhaven Heads Native Botanic Garden is holding a plant sale of Australian natives to fundraise for the maintenance and development of the garden. They’re also selling raffle tickets to win a deluxe kayak and generous vouchers, so not only can you get good quality native plants at modest prices, but you might also take some prizes home, all for a good cause!

Australia Day Duck Derby – 26 January

Start your public holiday with a fun day of racing rubber ducks at the beach! Buy your own duck in the race for the chance to win $500 and help support the Marine Rescue Jervis Bay volunteers’ surf rescue activities. Bring the family and a picnic rug, enjoy food trucks, market stalls, and entertainment, and watch your duck race to the finish line.
