South Coast Escapes – July Newsletter

Greater Sydney lockdowns continue, but down in the Shoalhaven we’re in the clear – if you’re doing the right thing up in Sydney and staying inside, we applaud you, and invite you to book a holiday down here in beautiful Jervis Bay for when lockdown ends! For those outside of restrictions, why not take advantage of the extra room on our beaches and come for a weekend away?

The Shoalhaven is a stunning location for a getaway in any season, and right now we’re blessed with whale and dolphin migration season, gorgeous beaches of endless white sand to stroll on, and a good number of sunny days even in winter! Enjoy the natural attractions like lookouts and walking trails or book yourself in for some live events – we’ve collected the best of the best for you below.

Foodies can join Bangalay Dining at Shoalhaven Heads for their Burgundy Dinner, a degustation menu influenced by the French Cuisine with a native twist and matched fine wines. For good food and wine during the day, enjoy lunch and live music in a picturesque setting at Mountain Ridge Wines on the first Sunday of each month while enjoying lunch, wine or a cheese platter at the restaurant.

Comedian Ross Noble is back on the road and bringing his show to Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. The former Perrier Award nominee, Barry Award, and Time Out award winner for best live stand-up has performed across the globe and will be bringing his show to Shoalhaven on 14 August.

At the same venue in August is Remember the Days of Cat Stevens, a celebration of one of the most inspiring and prolific singer songwriters of our time by Darren Coggan. Fans of classic love songs played at full energy will enjoy An Afternoon At The Proms, a musical spectacular with Australia’s most acclaimed international violinist Ian Cooper, opera stars, prima ballerinas, Pipe Band and the Blue Danube Orchestra.

Throw on a jacket and grab a tote bag to wander around the local markets dotted all over Jervis Bay and surrounds, including at Milton Village Showground, Jervis Bay Maritime Museum, Marine Rescue Ulladulla Wharf, Culburra Beach and Pyree Art & Craft Market. Select local crafts and produce to take back to your heated holiday home for a cosy picnic, or to take home as gifts for your loved ones. Whatever you choose, we’re ready to help you plan your time away in the beautiful Shoalhaven.
