Community support round 2026
Help us decide who to support this year
Every year we donate money to local causes in the towns we work in. We would like to hear who you think we should be helping.
Nominate an organisationIt only takes a minuteJust as we look after local holiday homes, we want to help with those that look after the local community.
Professional Holiday Homes manages hundreds of award-winning holiday houses across Jervis Bay and the NSW South Coast. Over the last four years we have donated more than $114,000 to local causes in those towns, and this year’s pool is the biggest we have put up.
Every year we go out to the community to ask for nominations to recognise organisations and community initiatives that could need a helping hand. Your nomination could be the key to recognising their contribution.
What we are looking for
Just four things, and none of them are complicated. If a group you know ticks them, we would like to hear about it.
Local to the areas we work in
Money raised here stays here, so we are keeping it to groups with a presence on this coast. It is nothing against the bigger national causes.
Small enough that it makes a difference
The same amount can disappear inside a large national body. For a small volunteer group, it might cover a year of running costs.
Registered, ideally as a deductible gift recipient
It keeps our accounting simple and gives everyone confidence the money lands where we say it will. An incorporated association is absolutely fine.
Doing something specific
“Two weeks of foster carer vet costs” tells us far more than “our ongoing work”. If you can tell us what the money would actually buy, that helps us more than anything.
How it works
Nominate
Anyone can put an organisation forward, and groups are very welcome to apply for themselves. It only takes a minute.
We review
We read every single nomination and look at it against the criteria above. If a group comes up more than once, we take that as a good sign.
We announce
We publish the recipients on this page on Friday 25 September, and everyone who nominated or applied hears from us directly before that.
Nominate an organisation
Twelve quick questions, about a minute of your time. Nominations close 5pm Friday 18 September.
Nomination terms
The rules in full, in plain English. Any questions, just email marketing@professionalholidayhomes.com.au.
Who can be nominated
Not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, registered charities and volunteer groups operating in the eligible towns listed above. Individuals, political parties and for-profit businesses are not eligible.
Who can nominate
Anyone aged 18 or over. Organisations may nominate themselves. There is no limit on how many organisations you nominate, but repeat nominations of the same group by the same person are counted once.
Dates
Nominations open Monday 31 August 2026 and close 5pm AEST Friday 18 September 2026. Recipients are announced Friday 25 September 2026. We are not able to assess anything that arrives after the closing time.
How recipients are chosen
This is not a competition, prize draw or game of chance. Every nomination is assessed by the Professional Holiday Homes team against the four criteria above. The decision is at Professional Holiday Homes’ discretion and is final, and we may not be able to talk through every individual decision.
How support is paid
Support is paid directly to the recipient organisation’s bank account, or supplied as the named goods or services. It is not paid to the person who nominated, and there is no cash alternative. Recipients may be asked for an invoice or receipt.
Your details and privacy
We use your name and email to assess the nomination and tell you the outcome. Marketing emails are a separate opt-in you can withdraw at any time. Details are handled under our privacy policy and are not sold or passed to third parties.
Publicity
Recipient organisation names are published on this page and on Professional Holiday Homes social channels. Nominator names are never published without written consent. Recipients may be asked, not required, to take part in a photo or a short story.
Conflicts of interest
Professional Holiday Homes staff and their immediate families may nominate, but any nomination with a staff connection is declared and assessed by someone without that connection.
Changes
Professional Holiday Homes may amend these terms or the round dates where circumstances require it. Any change is published on this page. These terms sit alongside the Professional Holiday Homes terms and conditions.
